First Arrest Opens New Probe Into Manjit Kaur Murder Case
Police have arrested a man in the case involving influencer Manjit Kaur’s death.
His name is Paraminder Singh, and he is also called Pinda.
Police say he worked as a driver for Rinku, who is still missing.
Pinda described an argument between Rinku and Kaur on July 3.
He said the argument may have turned into a fight in Sector 34.
Police are checking whether Kaur was burned there or taken somewhere else first.
Earlier, investigators believed she was taken to a forest near Morinda.
Kaur later died while receiving medical treatment.
Doctors also found that she had been seven weeks pregnant, and police are investigating whether that fact was connected to the dispute.
Chandigarh Police arrested Paraminder Singh alias Pinda, an associate of main accused Rinku.
Investigators are examining whether Kaur was assaulted and set on fire in Sector 34.
The earlier theory said she was taken from Sector 34 to a forested area near Morinda.
Kaur died on August 26 after suffering severe burns and an infection during treatment.
An autopsy found Kaur was seven weeks pregnant; police may use DNA testing to establish paternity.
