Maharashtra Clinical Establishments Bill Draws 2,000 Suggestions From Doctors

Maharashtra Clinical Establishments Bill Draws 2,000 Suggestions From Doctors

Maharashtra is considering a new law for clinics and other healthcare establishments.

The law would require them to register and follow certain safety and quality rules.

It would cover Allopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, Homoeopathy and Dentistry.

People and medical groups sent more than 2,000 suggestions about the proposal.

Doctors say they support patient safety and good healthcare.

However, they worry that small clinics could face too many forms, inspections and costs.

They want clear rules, fair fees and protection for doctors who give emergency care in good faith.

The proposal is still being reviewed and is not yet a law.
