Amazon Refreshes Kindle Lineup With Faster, Thinner Aluminium Models
Amazon is updating its Kindle e-readers before the Kindle’s 20th anniversary in 2027.
The new lineup includes regular, Paperwhite, Colorsoft, Signature Edition, and Kids models.
The basic Kindle turns pages faster and weighs less than before.
Some models now use aluminium instead of plastic.
Paperwhite and Colorsoft models are thinner, lighter, waterproof, and have adjustable warm lights.
Signature Editions can automatically adjust brightness and change to landscape orientation.
Amazon also introduced a Bluetooth page-turn accessory called Kindle Click.
The new models cost between $150 and $320, depending on the version.
Amazon unveiled refreshed 6-inch Kindle, 7-inch Paperwhite, and 7-inch Colorsoft models.
The new base Kindle is 30% faster, thinner at 6.8 mm, and weighs 118 grams.
Selected Signature Edition models use aluminium, 32 GB storage, automatic brightness, and dock charging.
The base Kindle, aluminium model, and Kids Kindle are rolling out overseas, while Paperwhite and Colorsoft launch later in October.
Prices range from $150 for the plastic Kindle to $320 for the Colorsoft Signature Edition.
