Supreme Court Denies Asaram Interim Bail, Allows 24x7 Trained Caregiver

A man named Asaram is a famous religious leader in India who was found guilty of hurting a young girl many years ago.

Because of that, he lives in jail.

Asaram is not feeling well, so he asked the highest court in India to let him leave jail for now.

Doctors at a famous hospital called AIIMS checked him carefully.

They said he does not need to go to a hospital, but he does need someone to help take care of him all the time.

The Supreme Court said he cannot leave jail for now.

Instead, the court said he can have a trained helper stay with him day and night in jail.

A government lawyer said Asaram did not tell the court that another court had already let him leave jail for 20 days.

The court said Asaram can ask again if his health gets worse.
