Govt to Release New Black Spot Data Using Real-Time Accident Reporting System

Imagine roads have dangerous spots called 'black spots' where accidents happen a lot.

Usually, the government checks old accident records to find these spots.

But now, they have a new high-tech system called e-DAR that collects accident information as soon as it happens, using police reports.

This new system helps the government find the dangerous black spots much faster, for the years 2023 and 2024.

This is important because it helps them plan better to fix these spots and save lives.

They are also working to make sure the old way of collecting data and the new e-DAR system agree more closely, as sometimes there have been differences in the numbers reported.
