Govt to Release New Black Spot Data Using Real-Time Accident Reporting System
Imagine roads have dangerous spots called 'black spots' where accidents happen a lot.
Usually, the government checks old accident records to find these spots.
But now, they have a new high-tech system called e-DAR that collects accident information as soon as it happens, using police reports.

Black spots are defined as 500m stretches with high accident rates, involving fatalities or serious injuries, over a three-year period.
The e-DAR system collects real-time accident data through an app used by first responders, primarily the police.
Efforts are underway to reduce discrepancies between traditional data collection methods and the e-DAR system to improve planning for road safety.
