Maharashtra Forms Panel for Pothole Deaths Compensation
The Maharashtra government has created a special team to decide how much money to give to families of people who died or got hurt because of potholes or open manholes on roads.
The team will meet often, especially during the rainy season when roads get worse.
Police and the public works department will help make sure no accident is missed.
If an accident happens on a road being worked on by a contractor, the contractor might have to pay.
