Congress Accuses Election Commission Over ‘Mark VIP’ Voter Feature

The Indian National Congress says election officials created a computer feature called “Mark VIP.”

It says the feature can label some voters as very important people.

The party says this could treat powerful people differently from ordinary voters.

Congress raised the issue during a special check of voter lists called the Special Intensive Revision.

It said some well-known people received notices during this process.

Congress wants the Election Commission of India to explain who ordered the feature.

It also criticized Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and accused the government of allowing the system.

The Election Commission’s response was not reported in the article.
