CAS Hearing Set for Crystal Palace vs. UEFA on August 8
Crystal Palace is fighting against being demoted to a lower European competition.
This is because of rules about who owns multiple football clubs.
The owner of Crystal Palace also had a stake in another team called Lyon.
Because of this, UEFA, the governing body for European football, decided Palace couldn't play in a higher-level competition.
Palace is appealing this decision.
A special court will hear the case on August 8th and decide whether Palace can play in the Europa Conference League, with a decision expected shortly thereafter.
Crystal Palace is appealing UEFA's decision to relegate them to the Europa Conference League.
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) hearing regarding the appeal is scheduled for August 8.
The case involves concerns over multi-club ownership rules and John Textor's influence.
UEFA ruled that Textor had control over both Crystal Palace and Lyon.
A final decision from CAS is expected by August 11.
