Telangana Faces Fiscal Pressure from Debt
Telangana's state finances are under pressure.
The government has collected a lot of money, but it's also borrowing a lot and spending a lot.
This is causing a deficit, which means they are spending more than they are earning.
The money from taxes is helping, but not enough to cover all the expenses.
The government is also spending a lot on things like salaries, pensions, and subsidies.
They are trying to build things like roads and schools, but it's hard because they owe so much money.
Telangana's total receipts reached Rs 1,66,785.68 crore by November 2025, 58.55% of the budget.
The state reported a revenue deficit of Rs 9,372.94 crore, reversing the budgeted surplus.
Fiscal deficit rose to Rs 58,068.89 crore, surpassing the annual estimate.
Capital receipts exceeded budget expectations, driven by borrowings and other liabilities.
Total expenditure stood at Rs 1,54,499.48 crore, with capital expenditure nearly fully realized.
