Atlanta Braves Name Walt Weiss New Manager to Succeed Brian Snitker
The Atlanta Braves have a new manager named Walt Weiss.
He used to be the team's bench coach and helped them win the World Series in 2021.
Before that, he played for the Braves too.
Weiss is taking over from Brian Snitker, who managed the team for a long time and also won the World Series.
Snitker decided it was time to step down after many seasons.
Weiss has managed another baseball team before, but this is his second chance to be a main manager in Major League Baseball.
The team's general manager wanted to find a new manager quickly.
Another former Braves player, David Ross, had also said he was interested in the job.
The Atlanta Braves have named Walt Weiss as their new manager.
Weiss succeeds Brian Snitker, who managed the team for 10 seasons and won a World Series.
Weiss has served as the Braves' bench coach since 2018 and was part of Snitker's staff.
This is Weiss's second Major League managerial position, having previously managed the Colorado Rockies.
Weiss also played shortstop for the Braves from 1998 to 2000 and won a World Series with the Oakland Athletics in 1989.
