Supreme Court Denies Doctors' Plea Against Bengaluru Transfers
Doctors in Bengaluru wanted to stay in the city and didn't want to be transferred.
They took their case to the Supreme Court, but the court said Bengaluru is a nice place to live and the doctors should be okay with moving.
The doctors also had concerns about the rules for transfers, like not having enough time to give their opinions and the rules being unfair.
The court decided the transfers could go ahead.
Supreme Court dismissed doctors' plea against transfers out of Bengaluru.
Justices cited the allure of Bengaluru's cosmopolitan life in the decision.
The case concerned the Karnataka State Civil Services (Regulation of Transfer of Medical Officers and other Staff) Rules, 2025.
Doctors argued the rules provided insufficient time for objections.
The doctors also contested the inclusion of 'Greater Bengaluru' in the final notification.
