Maharashtra GAD Orders Cancellation of Alleged Irregular Ministerial Deputations

Maharashtra’s government department is checking how people were appointed to work in ministers’ offices.

It says some employees may have been sent there without the proper written orders.

There are 904 approved jobs in these offices, and 549 are currently filled.

The department ordered employees appointed this way to return to their original departments.

This order was issued on August 25.

Notices were sent to the offices of the chief minister, deputy chief ministers and other ministers on August 27 and September 3.

Employees were told to return by September 10.

Their office passes and facial-access permissions could be removed.

The department said people who do not return may have their salaries stopped.
