India's ARIN-AP Presidency Stresses Fast Response in Cross-Border Asset Recovery
A group of countries and organizations is meeting in New Delhi to recover money connected to crime.
The group is called ARIN-AP.
India is leading the group this year.
Its members share information to find and take away illegal profits.
They also try to return recovered assets to the places that should receive them.
Rahul Navin of India’s Enforcement Directorate said requests should be answered quickly.
He said India has completed all or part of nearly 90 percent of requests received since April 2024.
The meeting will also focus on finishing cases and improving cooperation.
The 11th ARIN-AP Annual General Meeting began in New Delhi under India’s presidency.
The four-day conference is hosted by India’s Enforcement Directorate.
ED Director Rahul Navin urged faster responses to asset-recovery requests and completion of cases.
Navin highlighted tracing, securing, confiscating, managing and returning criminal assets.
The network has 32 member jurisdictions and 10 observers, including INTERPOL and the World Bank.
