Government to Sell Buffer Onions in Delhi at Rs 35/kg

Government to Sell Buffer Onions in Delhi at Rs 35/kg

The government plans to sell onions in Delhi for Rs 35 per kilogram.

This price is lower than the average market price.

About 800 tonnes of onions will arrive in Delhi on a special train called the ‘Kanda Express’.

The onions were stored by the government in Nashik, Maharashtra.

The government is releasing them because onion prices have been rising.

Stores run by NAFED, NCCF and Kendriya Bhandar will sell the onions.

Similar shipments are being sent to four other cities.

The plan is meant to make onions cheaper for people.
