JSW MG Plans ₹6,000 Crore Halol Expansion, Seeks Further Capital

JSW MG Motor India wants to build many more cars at its Halol factory in Gujarat.

The company plans to spend ₹3,500 crore, and its suppliers will add about ₹2,500 crore.

This would increase yearly production from 1.1 lakh vehicles to 2.2 lakh by January 2028.

The company says people want more cars than it can currently supply.

It hopes to sell up to 1 lakh vehicles in FY27.

The factory may eventually make about 4 lakh vehicles each year.

JSW MG and its partner SAIC are discussing whether more money will be needed for expansion beyond 2.2 lakh vehicles.

The company also wants more parts to be made in India, but making LFP battery cells locally is delayed because it still needs the necessary technology partner.
