Three foreign nationals held for 'Germany package' cyber fraud

Three foreign nationals held for 'Germany package' cyber fraud

A man in Rajkot, India, was tricked by strangers online.

They used a fake Facebook account that pretended to be a woman named Mary M Samuel.

She told the man she had sent him a package from Germany.

Then she asked him to pay different 'taxes and fees' to receive the package.

The man paid Rs 6.31 lakh, which is a very large amount of money.

But there was no real package at all — it was a scam.

The police investigated using phone numbers, internet addresses, and WhatsApp messages.

They found the scammers hiding in the Greater Noida area of Uttar Pradesh.

Three people were arrested: two men and one woman from Ghana, Tanzania, and South Sudan.

They were taken to Gujarat to face the police and answer for the fraud.
