Mira-Bhayandar Civic Body's Loan Plan Sparks Political Row

Mira-Bhayandar Civic Body's Loan Plan Sparks Political Row

The city of Mira-Bhayandar has a lot of potholes on its roads.

The city government wants to build new concrete roads to fix them.

But the city doesn't have enough money to pay the companies that built the roads.

So the city planned to borrow money from a private bank.

Some leaders say this plan means giving away the city's buildings and land for 30 years.

Many people think that is a bad idea.

A leader named Pratap Sarnaik says the state government should pay for the roads instead.

Another leader named Narendra Mehta wants to protest on August 10.

A leader also says someone named Kothari asked for a 23% commission to pay the companies.

Everyone is arguing about the best way to fix the roads.
