PDP Leader Accuses J&K Govt of Ignoring Reservation
Waheed Para, a leader from the PDP party, is saying that the government in Jammu and Kashmir isn't really trying to fix the rules about who gets special chances, called reservations.
He says the government is just pretending to care and is trying to keep voters happy instead.
The current rules give more opportunities to some groups than others, and Para thinks the government could easily change this but isn't.
He mentioned that a report about the reservation rules has been sent back and forth between different government departments, which Para sees as a way to avoid making a decision.
PDP leader Waheed Para said the J&K government is least interested in resolving reservation issues.
The existing reservation policy, enacted after Article 370, provides 30% vacancies for general category candidates.
Para says the government is only trying to safeguard its vote bank.
A cabinet sub-committee was formed in December to examine the matter.
The cabinet sent the sub-committee's report to the Law Department for examination.
