Delhi Enforces Winter Construction Ban to Curb Air Pollution

Delhi’s government says all construction work will stop from December 10 to January 20.

The goal is to reduce air pollution during winter.

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said some construction continued during the previous winter despite restrictions.

This year, officials will watch construction sites using cameras and computer systems.

The Dust Portal can use sensors to measure pollution and check whether rules are being followed.

Alerts can be sent to the government’s Control and Command Centre.

Officials may issue notices, warnings and fines for violations.

Residents are being asked to report construction that breaks the ban.
