JDS Questions Proposed Rs 200 Crore Bengaluru Jatre Spending

JDS Questions Proposed Rs 200 Crore Bengaluru Jatre Spending

Karnataka plans to hold a 10-day festival in Bengaluru called Bengaluru Jatre.

The event is scheduled for December 4 to 13.

The Janata Dal (Secular), an opposition party, says the reported Rs 200 crore cost is too high.

It argues that the city needs better roads and other basic services.

The party also says farmers are struggling after poor rainfall and crop losses.

It wants the government to use the proposed money to help farmers instead.

The government’s announcement of the event was made by Minister Krishna Byre Gowda.

The article reports the JDS’s criticism, but does not include a response from the government.
