IPS Officer Vartika Katiyar Challenges Transfer
A police officer named Vartika Katiyar was moved from her job in Ballari to a new position.
She didn't agree with this and asked a court to help.
The court said the government can't do anything until they hear more on January 19.
There was some fighting in Ballari where a man named Rajashekar Reddy died.
The government and the officer have different ideas about why she was moved.
Some other police officers also think the decision was not fair.
IPS Officer Vartika Katiyar was transferred from Ballari Range to Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement.
Katiyar moved to the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) challenging her transfer.
CAT directed the state government not to take any action until the next hearing on January 19.
The transfer comes after violence in Ballari on January 1, which resulted in the death of Congress worker Rajashekar Reddy.
Many IPS officers are unhappy with the government's decision, suggesting it may be politically motivated.
