Suryadatta Institute of Management Gets UGC Autonomous Status
A college in Pune, India, received a very special honor.
The government group that checks colleges gave it permission to run its own programs.
This is called autonomous status.
Now the college can choose its own lessons and tests.
It wants to teach new subjects like artificial intelligence and digital marketing.
Students will also do real projects and internships.
The college already got a top grade from a national rating agency.
Its founder says the goal is to prepare students for real jobs.
This makes the college more independent and modern.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) granted autonomous status to Suryadatta Institute of Management & Mass Communication (SIMMC).
SIMMC, affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University, offers MBA, MCA, BBA, and BCA programmes.
The institute holds an 'A' Grade NAAC accreditation and AICTE approval.
Autonomy will allow flexible curriculum design and new electives such as AI, influencer marketing, e-commerce, and data analytics.
Founder President Prof Dr Sanjay B Chordiya said the recognition will help develop job-ready and future-ready professionals.
