Tigress Release Opens New Tourism Chapter for Buxa and Dooars

Tigress Release Opens New Tourism Chapter for Buxa and Dooars

A three-year-old tigress was moved from Bihar to Buxa Tiger Reserve in West Bengal.

Suvendu Adhikari officially released the animal into the reserve.

Buxa had not had a resident tiger population for many years.

The release is part of a plan to bring tigers back to the area.

Adhikari said three more tigers will be released later.

The central and state governments are working together on the project.

Officials also want to improve conservation and tourism facilities around Buxa and the Dooars.

They hope the region will attract visitors from India and other countries.
