Muslim Community Holds Namaz Near Bhojshala Amid Local Protest
A group of Muslims went to a nearby field next to a historic monument in Dhar, India, to pray on a Friday.
The Supreme Court had said they could not pray inside the monument, so they found a new spot.
Some local people were upset because they think the land belongs to them.
Police were there to keep everyone safe.
The prayers went on peacefully, but the locals still want their land back.
Muslim community held Friday namaz on Khasra No.s 611 and 612 near the Bhojshala complex after a Supreme Court order.
The prayers were conducted under heavy police presence amid rain, with the ground turned into slush.
Local residents protested, claiming the land was privately owned and cultivated by their families for generations.
Police and officials ensured the event proceeded peacefully and promised to address the residents’ objections.
The Supreme Court has not stayed the High Court’s ruling that the complex is a Hindu temple, but directed a nearby site for Friday prayers while the dispute continues.
