Volkswagen India Plans 12% Workforce Cut In Restructuring

Volkswagen India is changing how its business operates to reduce costs.

The company plans to remove about 12% of its jobs over three years.

The cuts will affect office workers and factory workers.

The changes began in 2025 but are now happening faster.

Most of the reductions are expected to be completed through 2027.

Volkswagen wants to save tens of millions of dollars before introducing newer vehicles, including an electric model.

The India plan is part of a much larger worldwide restructuring.

Globally, Volkswagen also plans to cut 50,000 more jobs and make fewer vehicle models.
