Centre's Delay on Arvind Kumar Holds Up KTR Chargesheet
The Chief Minister of Hyderabad, A. Revanth Reddy, said that the delay in filing a chargesheet against K.T. Rama Rao in the Formula E Race case is because the Central government hasn't approved the prosecution of Arvind Kumar, another accused in the same case.
The Governor has already given permission to prosecute Rama Rao, but the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) can't file the chargesheet without approval for Kumar.
The ACB is being careful to follow all the rules to make sure the case is strong.
The case is about the transfer of ₹55 crore without proper approvals and allegations of a quid pro quo arrangement involving ₹44 crore received by the BRS party.
The delay in filing the chargesheet against K.T. Rama Rao is due to the Central government's pending approval for prosecuting Arvind Kumar.
Governor Jishnu Dev Verma granted permission to prosecute Rama Rao on November 20, but the ACB cannot proceed without DoPT clearance for Kumar.
The ACB is ensuring all procedural steps are followed to avoid any lapses that could weaken the case.
The case involves the alleged transfer of ₹55 crore without mandatory approvals and a quid pro quo arrangement involving ₹44 crore received by the BRS.
The investigation has been ongoing for nearly 11 months, with the ACB awaiting clearance from the DoPT to file the chargesheet.
