Delhi's Severe Air Pollution Crisis
Delhi's air quality has become very bad, reaching severe levels.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) is 413, which is dangerous for health.
Some places in Delhi, like Anand Vihar and Ashok Vihar, have even worse air quality.
The main reasons for this pollution are cars, factories, construction work, and burning waste.
The weather is also not helping, as there is fog and little wind to clear the pollution.
The government has put some rules to reduce pollution, like stopping older cars and construction work.
People are advised to stay inside and wear masks to protect themselves from the bad air.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that the transport sector causes 40% of the pollution and that India needs to reduce its dependence on fossil fuels.
Delhi's AQI reached 413, classified as hazardous, with some areas exceeding 466.
Vehicular emissions are the largest contributor to pollution, accounting for 40%, followed by industries and construction.
Weather conditions, including fog and calm winds, are preventing the dispersion of pollutants.
GRAP-IV restrictions are in place, including curbs on older vehicles and construction activities.
Residents are advised to limit outdoor exposure and wear masks due to health risks.
