Grieving Family Honors Son Through Tissue Donation in Gujarat
A family in Gujarat lost their 30-year-old son, Rahul, after a severe accident.
Even though doctors couldn't save him, his family decided to donate his eyes and skin to help other people.
This was a very kind thing to do, especially since they were very sad.
The hospital where this happened has now helped many people by collecting 966 organs and tissues for donation.
Dr. Rakesh Joshi, who works at the hospital, said this shows that even in sad times, people can do good things to help others.
Rahul Manubhai Patel, 30, suffered a severe head injury in an accident on January 18.
Despite intensive care, Rahul did not meet the criteria for brain death, preventing organ donation.
The Patel family decided to donate Rahul's eyes and skin to help others.
This donation marks a milestone for Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, which has now recorded 966 organs and tissues donated.
Dr. Rakesh Joshi praised the family's decision as a powerful message of humanity and awareness about organ and tissue donation.
