Minister Inspects Hesaraghatta Grassland, Calls for Protection
The Forest Minister, Eshwar B. Khandre, visited Hesaraghatta Lake and its big grassland area.
He said we need to protect this place because it's important for birds and gives water to many people.
He wants to stop trash from getting into the lake and the river.
The grassland should be taken care of, and local people can still use it for their animals.
The minister also wants a plan to make the area even better, using help from different groups and money from companies.
Forest Minister Eshwar B. Khandre inspected Hesaraghatta Lake and its 5,678-acre grassland, recently declared a protected area.
He emphasized preventing waste from polluting the lake, which supplies drinking water to nearly 10 lakh people annually.
Khandre stressed the importance of protecting the Arkavathi river and rejuvenating the naturally grown grasslands.
Local villagers will continue to have free access to the grasslands for grazing cattle and goats.
A comprehensive conservation plan will be prepared using CSR funds, with support from various departments and local bodies.
