She tried to stay strong, but she admitted it was difficult.

To treat her skin, she used a special medicine called an ointment.

During the day, she put the ointment on her skin.

At night, she wrapped the treated areas in plastic wrap, which is sometimes called Saran Wrap.

The plastic wrap helped keep the medicine touching her skin for longer so it could work better.

She kept Saran Wrap next to her bed because she used it every night.

Kim said this treatment was far from comfortable, but she shared her story with PEOPLE magazine.
