Mayawati Rules Out Punjab Alliance, Orders BSP Solo Poll Preparations
Mayawati is the leader of the Bahujan Samaj Party, or BSP.
She said the BSP will contest the next Punjab Assembly election by itself.
This means it will not form an alliance or share seats with another party.
She said past alliances had reduced the BSP’s seats and vote share.
Mayawati wants the party to win support from people unhappy with other parties.
She asked workers to choose hardworking and honest candidates.
She also told them to build the party’s organisation at every polling booth.
The Punjab unit must prepare for a programme remembering BSP founder Kanshi Ram on October 9.
It was also asked to provide greater financial support for a January 15, 2027 programme.
