Apple to Debut New A20 Chipset in 2026 iPhones
In 2026, Apple plans to launch the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Fold with a new, faster chip called the A20.
This chip, made by TSMC, will use a new 2nm process, making it smaller and more efficient.
The new design will bring components closer together for better performance and lower power use.
This should mean better battery life and the ability to handle new features like Apple Intelligence on iOS.
The production of these chips will increase in 2027.
Apple plans to use TSMC's 2nm manufacturing process for its A20 chip.
The A20 chip is expected to debut in 2026 with the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and Fold.
The 2nm A20 processor will be smaller and more power-efficient.
A new Wafer-Level Multi-Chip Module (WMCM) design will be used.
TSMC's 2nm production will ramp up capacity in 2027.
