Andhra Pradesh Assembly Passes Four Bills Reshaping Higher Education

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Passes Four Bills Reshaping Higher Education

Andhra Pradesh has approved four new laws to change how higher education works.

Education Minister Nara Lokesh introduced the laws in the state Assembly.

One law will make the existing regulatory commission focus mainly on fees and stopping commercialisation.

Another will make it easier and faster to approve private universities.

A third law will create skill universities connected to industries and practical training.

Existing ITIs, polytechnics and other institutions could become skill universities.

The fourth law is designed to help recruit 1,523 teachers while following reservation rules.

The bills were passed unanimously.
