Former BCCI President IS Bindra Dies

A very important person in Indian cricket, Inderjit Singh Bindra, has passed away.

He was the president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from 1993 to 1996.

He was also the chief of the Punjab Cricket Association for a long time, from 1978 to 2014.

He was 84 years old and lived in New Delhi.

He died at his home on a Sunday afternoon after having lunch.

Many people in cricket, like Jay Shah, the chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), have expressed their sadness and respect for him.

Bindra was known for his work in bringing media rights and financial stability to BCCI, which helped to transform its financial situation.

He also played a key role in bringing the 1987 and 1996 World Cups to India.

However, he was also known for his outspoken views on governance in Indian cricket, particularly criticizing the management of the IPL 2013 corruption scandal.
