Tech Giants Move to Clean Up AI Slop Across Platforms

Artificial intelligence, or AI, is a kind of computer program that can make pictures, songs, and stories all by itself.

Some people use AI to create lots of quick, low-quality posts called 'slop' to get attention or make money.

This slop fills up websites like YouTube, Spotify, and TikTok, making it harder for people to find good content.

Now, big tech companies are trying to clean up all this AI junk.

Spotify removed 75 million songs that seemed fake or copied.

YouTube deleted 130,000 channels that posted low-quality videos.

TikTok labeled more than 3 billion videos made by AI and took down many that broke its rules.

The word 'slop' was even chosen as the word of the year for 2025.

Some people worry that the cleanup tools might accidentally remove good content made by real people.

Companies are trying to find a balance between stopping slop and protecting real creators.
