NSE Lists on BSE, Pledges Public Interest Over Business Goals

The National Stock Exchange, or NSE, has become a publicly listed company.

Its shares began trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange at ₹1,800 each.

This was slightly higher than the IPO price of ₹1,785.

The NSE makes money as a business, but it also helps keep financial markets fair.

Its chairperson said protecting the public and keeping markets trustworthy will come first.

The exchange’s IPO attracted many investors and was almost six times oversubscribed.

The public offering had been delayed for years because of regulatory issues.

NSE officials said they focused on the company’s long-term value when choosing the timing.
