Satara-Deolai Residents Protest as Wells and Borewells Run Dry

Satara-Deolai Residents Protest as Wells and Borewells Run Dry

People in Satara-Deolai are having trouble finding water.

Many local wells and borewells have run dry after little rain.

On Sunday, about 300 to 400 residents protested for three hours near a water tank.

They said they had complained but had not received enough help.

Some residents said they must buy water from private tanker operators.

The mayor said 84 water tankers were working in the city.

A large new water project is still being built, and four of its eight planned tanks for Satara-Deolai are complete.

Residents want the city to start supplying water from those tanks as soon as possible.
