Rajnath Singh Inaugurates DPSU Bhavan, Oversees Major Defence MoUs
The Defence Minister opened a new building for government companies that make defense equipment.
These companies signed three important agreements to work together.
One agreement is to help build a special machine that makes important metal parts for planes and other military gear, which will help India make more things itself instead of buying them from other countries.
Another agreement is to create a special storage for raw materials so that important defense projects don't get delayed.
The minister also launched new plans to help these companies invent more things and to make their factories more environmentally friendly.
Some companies were also recognized for doing a really good job and were given a special status that allows them to make bigger decisions.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the new DPSU Bhavan in New Delhi.
Three major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) to promote collaboration and self-reliance.
HAL and BDL signed MoUs with YIL to support modernization and establish a forging press facility, aiming to reduce import dependence.
A Metal Bank was established at MIDHANI to ensure the availability of critical raw materials for defence projects.
The event highlighted R&D initiatives, including a new R&D Manual, and the launch of SWAYAM for sustainable and green defence manufacturing.
