Centre Reviews Gurugram Metro and Sewerage Projects Amid Waterlogging

Minister Tokhan Sahu checked the progress of several projects designed to improve cities.

One project will build a metro line between Millennium City Centre and Cyber City in Gurugram.

It will also have a branch reaching the Dwarka Expressway.

The government is spending money through AMRUT 2.0 to improve sewerage and sanitation.

There are 394 sewerage projects being built under the programme.

These projects are expected to give many households new connections or improve existing services.

The Ministry said AMRUT covers 500 cities and has reached about 55 percent of its reported coverage.

Sahu also discussed cleaner waste management and plans to help cities respond to climate change.

Heavy rain and flooding in Gurugram have increased public attention on the city's infrastructure.
