Heavy Rains Cause Sharp Rise in Vegetable Prices
Imagine it's raining a lot, and that's making it harder to get your favorite veggies.
Because of the rain, vegetables like beans, brinjal, and bell peppers are costing more money.
Leafy greens are also expensive because the rain damaged the crops.
Sometimes, when people are celebrating or having parties, they buy more veggies, which makes the prices go up even more.
Luckily, after July 8, the prices might go down a little bit.
Vegetable prices have increased due to continuous rainfall in the past two weeks.
Beans retail for Rs 90-100 per kg in the open market, and up to Rs 117 at HOPCOMS.
Other vegetables like white brinjal, bell peppers, and carrots have also seen price increases.
Leafy greens prices are high at Rs 30-40 per bunch due to crop damage.
Egg prices and Elakki bananas have also increased in price.
