Jenjum Gadi’s Brass Sculptures Preserve a Vanishing Arunachal Village

Jenjum Gadi is an artist from a village in Arunachal Pradesh.

He made an art exhibition called Ngok Dollu, which means “my village.”

The exhibition remembers the village as it was when he was young.

His sculptures are made of brass and show ideas from nature, homes and community life.

The sculptures are not exact copies of real buildings or objects.

Gadi says the village is changing because of development, deforestation and waste.

He wants to save memories of the village before they fade.

He also hopes his work helps people learn more about artists from northeast India.
