Andhra Pradesh Expands Insurance and MSME Initiatives
The government of Andhra Pradesh wants to make sure everyone in the state has insurance by the year 2047.
They are working with insurance companies and a special committee to make this happen.
They will focus on different types of insurance like life, crop, and health.
The government will also teach people about the benefits of insurance.
In the first step, insurance companies will work with about 5,000 local villages to spread the word.
Additionally, the government is setting up 175 parks for small businesses across the state to create jobs for young people.
They are doing this in three steps, with the first step already starting and the rest planned to finish by the end of the month.
Andhra Pradesh aims to provide insurance coverage to all citizens by 2047.
The State Level Insurance Committee (SLIC) is working with IRDAI to expand coverage, especially in remote areas.
Sector-specific sub-committees are recommended for life, crop, motor, and health insurance.
Government departments will educate beneficiaries about the advantages of insurance.
Lead insurance companies have adopted 5,000 gram panchayats for promoting insurance awareness.
