West Bengal Accelerates Health Projects at North Bengal Hospital
The West Bengal government is speeding up big health projects at a hospital in Matigara.
A minister named Anandamay Barman said the Cancer Care Unit should start in about eight months, and a new Super Speciality Block should finish in a year and a half.
He also wants a special officer to keep track of each project.
The hospital will get a new Cath Lab and a 50‑bed critical care unit.
New doctors, like neurosurgeons, have already joined.
There were also complaints about illegal payments for post‑mortem exams, so an investigation will be done and strict action will be taken if anyone is found guilty.
