DRI Busts Pan-India Gold Smuggling Network, Seizes ₹10.36 Crore

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence says it uncovered a large gold-smuggling network in India.

The group allegedly brought gold across the Indo-Bangladesh border.

It then split the gold into small packages and sent them through courier services.

The packages were sent to people in several major cities.

Officials seized 6.61 kilograms of foreign-origin gold worth about ₹10.36 crore.

They arrested 11 people, including an alleged mastermind.

Investigators say the same network may have moved nearly 318 kilograms of gold earlier in 2026.

The investigation is continuing to find more people and trace the money.
