Bihar Faces Devastating Floods Despite Low Rainfall, Chief Minister Says

Bihar is facing serious floods even though it has received less than 30 per cent of its expected rainfall this year.

The chief minister said heavy rain in nearby states and Nepal caused rivers to rise.

About 49.72 lakh people have been affected.

Several rivers are flowing above their danger levels.

The government gave money to 8.27 lakh flood-affected families.

Each family received Rs 7,000.

Officials are running community kitchens and relief camps.

Rescue teams are helping people in the affected areas.

A central team will visit Bihar to assess the damage.
