YMA, MSACS Partner to Tackle HIV, Drug Addiction in Mizoram
The Young Mizo Association (YMA) and Mizoram State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) are teaming up to fight HIV and drug addiction.
They're worried because many people are getting HIV, especially through unsafe sex with both permanent and casual partners.
A lot of those infected are young adults.
The YMA will educate young people about using condoms.
They also discussed how using medicine instead of needles for drugs is safer.
Both organizations plan to work together to study the issue and help people.
YMA and MSACS will collaborate to address HIV and drug addiction.
32,544 people infected with HIV since October 1990.
2,021 people infected during the 2024-2025 financial year.
Majority of infections are from unsafe sex, including with permanent partners.
YMA will educate youth about condom use.
