Mumbai Lakes Near Capacity: Water Stock Rises to 12.87 Lakh ML
Mumbai's lakes, which provide water to the city, are almost full thanks to lots of rain!
The water level is at about 89% of what is needed for the whole year.
Some lakes are already overflowing, like Modak Sagar and Vehar.
The amount of water in the lakes is more than it was last year at this time.
Because of the rain, the city is likely to have enough water in the coming months.
Mumbai's seven lakes have reached nearly 89% of their total capacity due to consistent monsoon rainfall.
The total water stock in the lakes is 12.87 lakh million litres as of August 2nd, 2025.
Modak Sagar and Vehar lakes are at 100% capacity; Tansa is nearly full at 98.37%.
