Taiwan Detects 10 Chinese Aircraft and Ships Amid Rising Tensions
Imagine Taiwan and China are like two neighbors who don't always agree on where their property line is.
China sometimes sends its toy planes and boats near Taiwan's yard, even crossing an imaginary line that marks their unofficial border.
Recently, China has been doing this a lot.
On Sunday, Taiwan saw 10 toy planes and 10 toy boats.
Some of these planes flew over the imaginary line and into Taiwan's important airspace.
This is part of China's way of showing it wants Taiwan to be part of its country.
The United States has also warned China not to cause any trouble with Taiwan.
Taiwan detected 10 Chinese military aircraft and 10 naval vessels around its territory on Sunday.
Four of the Chinese aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait into Taiwan's ADIZ.
This activity is part of a pattern of increased military operations by China near Taiwan.
Previous days saw higher numbers of detected Chinese aircraft and vessels, with many crossing the median line.
US President Donald Trump has warned China against military aggression toward Taiwan.
