China Says Trade Truce Extension Creates Space for Talks

China Says Trade Truce Extension Creates Space for Talks

China and the United States agreed to keep a trade pause in place for two more months.

The pause will last until January 10.

China said this gives both countries time to review what they have already agreed to do.

It also gives them more time to discuss new trade and economic issues.

The countries plan to talk about lowering tariffs on $30 billion worth of goods.

They will create an agriculture group to discuss selling food and farm products to each other.

China also plans to buy some American coal in 2027 and 2028.

The countries will keep talking about artificial intelligence, financial companies, and more direct flights.

China said the extension could make business conditions more stable and predictable.
